Color Weather Radar Display
Panel Products Inc. manufactures simulated displays and display related products that are proprietary to individual customers. These displays are manufactured under contract to a specific customer and are sold only to that customer or to users approved by them.
This unit is unique in that it is a fully self-contained Weather Radar Simulation System (WRSS), controlled by an internal embedded CPU executing BRS' WRSS software. It can be incorporated into a flight simulator by simply providing power and an Ethernet connection to a host computer in accordance with BRS' Interface Control Document (ICD). All radar modeling, bezel I/O, and video generation are performed internal to the unit. It is shown in the test mode.
Screen: AMLCD ¼ VGA, 320 by 240. 4.30 inches horizontal by 3.30 inches vertical. Viewing angles, 55 degrees right and left, 50 degrees up, 40 degrees down.
Rear Panel I/O: Two USB ports, RS232 display alignment, Ethernet interface to BRS CPU, and a video repeater output. Dongle provides secure access to BRS WRSS software.
Power: 85 to 240 VAC 47 to 63 Hz, power consumption, 35 watts. Panel and control Illumination: 0-5 Volts AC or DC. Cooling; internal cooling fan draws air in from back and exits on sides and top.
Size (inches): Front bezel; 6.20 wide by 6.70 high by 0.40 thick. Chassis; 6.20 wide by 6.25 high by 13.55 deep.
